Stumbling upon inspiration...

So, my sister has created a monster. She introduced me to Stumble. You sign up and check off all these things that you're interested in, it installs a toolbar, and you just click on Stumble and it will take you to some random websites that you might enjoy...and enjoy them I do! You can then decide whether you like what it takes you to or not and give it a thumbs up or down and your preferenceds will adjust somehow so that it will take you to more of the stuff you like! Want an example?

I gave these a thumbs up (aka I Like It!)

Virtual Drum Kit
Creative Business Cards
911 For Writers

So see? Something fun to waste time, something practical AND inspiring, and something to keeep the creative juices flowing! Funny I used that phrase, b/c when I was getting that last link, I went ahead and pushed the '9' on the phone for a verb and it gave me squelch, with a picture of hand squishing a tomato! Tomato juices...creative juices...it's all the same, I guess!

It doesn't save the things I give the thumbs down to (of course), but some examples of that:

-Instructions on how to transfer music from your iPod to a computer (already know how)
-Pages of links to interesting sites (I'm already using something like that, why would you give me a page of the same thing?)
-Somebody's personal blog that had nothng to do with me (kind of like if somebody 'Stumbled' onto my blog...I would not be offended by their thumbs down..)

So yeah. Some things are REALLY cool and fun and some are just kind of ok...oh, and you don't have choose if you like it or not, you can just stumble again. I think it means you may see it again eventually, but it hasn't happened to me yet. Still learning. My only problem so far is thinking, "ooh, this is neat. I'll 'like' it and come back and really explore the site later!" Only I haven't actually gone back to maybe 5 of them.

The thing is, I'm trying to wean myself off of the same ol' silliness I'm addicted to...aka Facebook. I really enjoy the social aspect of it, but I'm seriously about to delete all the apps and stuff I have. It's just too distracting. I want so many things for my life, and right now I can't really go out very much (notice how my car fund hasnt' increased AT ALL?!?) so I want to fill my downtime with things that are more constructive and inspiring.

So if anybody knows of any FREE entertainment available in the area, please let me know! And I have some schemes in the work to CREATE free entertainment FOR the area...woo-hoo! The past couple of days have been life-loving days for me...I hope it sticks!
